About Nick Tetreault:
In addition to his Real Estate Broker's License, Nick is
a Licensed Certified Real Estate Appraiser. He holds the
Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation from
the National Association of Realtors and the Senior Residential
Appraiser (SRA) designation from the Appraisal Institute.
He was the 2006 president of the Greater Waterbury
Board of Realtors and was appointed by the governor to
the Connecticut Real Estate Appraisal Commission.
As
a lifelong resident of Waterbury, Conn., Nick
Tetreault has served his community in many capacities.
His professional career in housing and real estate began in
the late 1970s when he was appointed a member of the Waterbury
Community Development Rehabilitation Loan Board.
In
1981, he was named executive director of Neighborhood
Housing Services of Waterbury, Inc. (NHS). At NHS he
directed programs that provided housing rehab loans
to homeowners in various neighborhoods throughout Waterbury.
He also began a program to acquire vacant, boarded dwellings
from banks or the city, rehab and then sell them to
eligible families in need of affordable housing. While
at NHS, Nick obtained his Real Estate Broker's License
and began his appraisal career.
In
1986, Nick returned to the private sector as a self-employed
Realtor/Appraiser, launching NICK TETREAULT
REALTY AND APPRAISAL. A successful business still in operation
today, NICK TETREAULT REALTY AND APPRAISAL
now comprises a professional staff of nine sales associates
plus office support, serving the real estate needs of Greater
Waterbury.
Nick is also a longtime member of the Salvation Army
Advisor Board as well as a board member of the Waterbury
YMCA. He has received numerous accolades for his community
involvement including awards of appreciation from the
Neighborhood Housing Services and La Casa Bien Venida,
an organization representing elderly Spanish residents,
and recognition for his contributions to Waterbury Youth
Services.
Nick
lives in the Platts Mill section of Waterbury with his
wife, Sheila, owner of the Sunshine
Dance Center in Waterbury, and his dog, Maxiford.
